We track publicly available carrier pricing regularly and update our database daily. While we strive for accuracy, Canadian carriers can launch flash sales or regional promotions at any time. Always confirm final pricing on the carrier's website before completing your switch.

BYOP means you keep your existing phone and only switch your SIM card or plan. No device purchase required. These plans are almost always contract-free, giving you flexibility to switch carriers whenever you find a better deal.

Prepaid plans are pay-as-you-go. You pay upfront for a set amount of data and minutes. Postpaid plans bill you monthly after use, often include a device subsidy, and may have contracts. For most Canadians who already own a phone, prepaid BYOP plans offer the best value.

eSIM & Travel

An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM built into your device. Instead of a physical card, you scan a QR code or use an app to activate a carrier plan. For travel, this means you can add a local data plan to your phone without swapping SIM cards.

Most modern smartphones support eSIM, including iPhone XS and later, Google Pixel 3 and later, Samsung Galaxy S20 and later, and many other Android flagships. Check your device's settings under 'Cellular' or 'Mobile Data' for an 'Add eSIM' option to confirm compatibility.

After purchasing a travel eSIM through Cellulo, you will receive a QR code via email. Go to your phone's Settings → Cellular (or Mobile Data) → Add eSIM, then scan the QR code. Activation typically takes 1–5 minutes. It's best to do this before you travel, while connected to Wi-Fi.

Account & Orders

Cellulo is a comparison platform. We show you the best plans and link you directly to the carrier's website or app to complete your purchase. Click 'View Plan' or 'Get This Plan' on any plan card to be taken to the carrier's official checkout.

Do NOT cancel your current plan before switching. Your new carrier will initiate the number port for you. Have your current account number and PIN/password ready. Under CRTC regulations, carriers must complete the port within 2.5 hours once initiated.

Billing disputes should be raised directly with your carrier's customer service. If you purchased a travel eSIM through Cellulo and have a billing concern, use the contact form on this page with your order confirmation and we will assist you.

For BYOP (Bring Your Own Phone) plans, you can typically switch at any time since there's no contract. For plans bundled with a device, early termination fees may apply. Check your contract terms with your carrier for details.

Contact your carrier directly to cancel. For Rogers, Bell, and Telus, you can cancel via their app or by calling customer service. For prepaid plans, simply stop renewing. Under CRTC rules, carriers cannot charge cancellation fees for month-to-month plans.

Troubleshooting Guides

My eSIM isn't working

  1. Ensure your device is unlocked and eSIM-compatible (Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM).
  2. Restart your phone after scanning the QR code. This triggers the network registration.
  3. Confirm you are within the eSIM's coverage area and that the plan has been activated.
  4. If still not working, use the contact form on this page with your order number and device model.

I can't find plans for my province

  1. Click the province indicator (e.g., 'ON') in the top navigation bar and select your province.
  2. Refresh the plans page. The list will update to show carriers and pricing for your region.
  3. Some smaller provinces may have fewer plans. Use 'National' view to see all available plans across Canada.

I'm not receiving a confirmation email

  1. Check your spam/junk folder. Confirmation emails sometimes get filtered.
  2. Add our support address to your contacts to whitelist future emails.
  3. If you still don't see it within 15 minutes, use the contact form on this page with your name and order details.
